Gujarat Secondary Education Board Declared The Date Of SSC & HSC Board Exam | Circular Regarding Reducing The Syllabus From Std 9 to 12 In The Interest Of Of The Students In The Situation Of Covid-19
Circular regarding the decision of the State Government to reduce the syllabus from Std. 9 to 12 in the interest of students in the situation of COVID-19.
The press release of the Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education states that in the current situation of Kovid-12 in place of the Hon'ble Minister of Education, the officers of the Department of Education at the Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education for consideration to reduce the number of working days and curriculum in schools for the academic year 2020-21. In attendance on 23/07/2020, 20/08/2020 And meetings were held on 11/09/2020.
A meeting was held at STTI, Gandhinagar on 7/09/2020 under the chairmanship of Hon'ble Minister of Education to consider this matter. In which academics as well as experts and officials of different disciplines were present.
Due to the situation of Covid-12 in the above meetings, real educational work could not be done in the schools but the work of imparting education to the students through online education has been done through different mediums. In the current situation, the curriculum has been reduced by CBSE as well as other state boards as well as representations have been received from students and parents to reduce the curriculum. In the interest of the students in the prevailing situation of COVID-19, after thorough consideration, the recognition of Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education by the State Government
It has been decided to reduce the syllabus in Std. 9 to 12 by an estimated 50% for the academic year 2020-21 in all the schools. So that the stress of the students can be reduced and the students of Std. 10 and 12 can prepare well for the board exams.
The subjects reduced from the syllabus of Std-9 to 12 have been reduced for the purpose of examination i.e. those subjects have been canceled from the syllabus. Questions will not be asked from them in the examination, but in the academic interest of the students the teachers will have to impart the knowledge of these issues to the students.
This will be applicable only for the academic year 2020-21. Care has been taken to ensure that leaked chapters / topics are not canceled while reducing the syllabus and students do not face any difficulty in the competitive examination.

In which the details of the ongoing chapters / issues in the syllabus of Std-9 to 12 subjects as well as the chapters / issues canceled from the syllabus will be sent to all the schools accredited by Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board through all the District Education Officers. These details will also be placed on the board’s website.
